On Sunday 15th May, Pope Francis declared ten new saints for the Church.  Amongst them is Blessed Titus Brandsma, O.Carm.

Beaumont Parishioners are familiar with the portrait of Blessed Titus in the Marian chapel of the Church of the Nativity of Our Lord.  Blessed Titus is a modern-day martyr, having been killed for his faith by lethal injection in Dachau in 1942.  You can read more about him by taking a leaflet from the back of the church and by visiting the Irish Carmelites’ website: https://carmelites.ie/titus-brandsma-canonisation/

In our Parish, there will be a special blessing with a relic of St Titus Brandsma at Sunday Masses on 21st/22nd May.  Archbishop Farrell will celebrate a special Mass of Thanksgiving in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Whitefriar Street at 4pm.  The preacher will be Fr Fernando Millan Romeral O.Carm.  More information: https://www.whitefriarstreetchurch.ie
