Create a May Altar at Home

We would like to invite you to take part in a beautiful tradition this May by creating a simple altar in your home in honour of Our Lady. This cherished practice has been passed down through generations and offers a meaningful way to mark the month of May.

You can set up your May altar on a small table, windowsill, or shelf. At the heart of the altar, place an image or statue of Our Lady on a blue or white cloth if you have one. You can add flowers—whether fresh or artificial—that you may already have at home, or anything that helps you reflect and pray.

We also suggest placing a candle on your altar, which you can light each day during May as a quiet invitation to pause, pray the rosary, and ask for Our Lady’s intercession.

Visit Our May Altar
You are welcome to visit our May altar in the pastoral centre throughout the month, to spend a moment in quiet reflection or prayer, and if you wish, you may also leave a flower in honour of Our Lady. Our May altar features some lovely artwork from our Communion classes.

We would love to see your May Altars!
Please feel free to share a photo of your home altar with us by adding your picture in the comments on our May altar Facebook post or email a picture to us at parishoffice@beaumontparish.com for us to share.
