As we prepare for the holy season of Lent, it remains unclear when a return to public worship will be possible.
Mass on Ash Wednesday will be celebrated privately at 10am and will be broadcast in the usual way. Ashes will be blessed at the Mass, and afterwards, placed in small envelopes which will be available at the back of the church throughout the day. In this way it will be possible to collect in a way that doesn’t risk cross contamination from a common container. We will also prepare some prayers that you can say at home as you impose ashes on members of your household.
Each Friday in Lent, we will celebrate the Via Crucis, the Stations of the Cross at 19:30. We invite you to join us online or by phone/radio for this special moment of prayer each week.
Enjoy the feast before the fast tomorrow … Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Carnevale…. the last time we will hear “alleluia” for a little while. We can look forward then to the great feast of Easter after the fast we make for Lent.
May God bless you all with good health and a good spiritual preparation for Easter.
